Sustainable Development

As a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Panattoni Development Company consistently places a high priority on creating projects that meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) standards. Together with its affiliate company, Panattoni Construction, a large number of personnel have already obtained LEED accreditation.

Several current developments illustrate Panattoni’s commitment to sustainable projects.

The first is a 400,000 square foot, 14-story office building now under construction in West Sacramento, California. This build-to-suit development will house the California State Teacher’s Retirement System (CalSTRS). Upon completion, the building will apply to become LEED certified. It is registered with the USGBC and is anticipated to gain LEED Gold certification.

The second is a multi-city build-to-suit for the Whirlpool Corporation. Panattoni is currently under construction on 3 industrial buildings in Atlanta, Denver and Seattle totaling 2.8 million square feet, which have been registered with the USGBC. Upon completion, Panattoni anticipates that these buildings will become LEED certified, with two reaching at least the silver level.

The third, a 65,700 sf speculative office building named Wortham Green is under construction in Houston, Texas. Upon completion, the building will apply to become LEED certified. It is registered with the USGBC and is anticipated to gain LEED Silver certification.

Lastly, Panattoni has nearly 1,600,000 million square feet of planned LEED projects in its pipeline.

A task force has been created to consistently monitor advanced techniques and new equipment which will enable Panattoni to remain in the forefront of sustainable development.
