Panattoni Reno – New 800,000 SF Distribution Center

S&S Activewear announced Tuesday that it will open a brand new 800,000 square foot distribution center in Reno.

The company is the largest tenant ever to be signed in a speculative project in state history, meaning the space was built without a tenant in mind.

S&S Activewear says its current California warehouse will be consolidated into the new facility, with the Reno center for opening in the first quarter of 2019, and the California center slated to close in the second quarter in 2019. S&S Activewear will relocate its California call center operation to Tempe, Arizona in the same time frame.

S&S Activewear is slated to open its new distribution center in Panattoni’s North Valleys Commerce Center.

“When the economy is this vibrant, tenants don’t want to wait. They want to go to a building that’s already built. So, you try to get ahead of it by building a building that we think is going to lease and we’re fortunate to have that,” says partner Doug Roberts.

S&S Activewear ships blank name-brand apparel to other businesses who put designs on them. The business started in Chicago 30 years ago – and Reno serves a major purpose.

Authorities say Reno’s strategic location will allow S&S to reach a majority of the West Coast with one-day ship times.
