1 million-square-foot building proposed in Mt. Juliet

NASHVILLE, TN – Plans for a new 1 million-square-foot industrial building immediately north of the Under Armour project in Mt. Juliet have been submitted to the city’s planning department.
The proposal is being called Beckwith North, on property immediately north of Beckwith West where Under Armour is being built.
A potential user for the proposed facility “is still up in the air,” said Mt. Juliet City Planner Bo Logan.
In October Under Armour announced plans to build a 1 million-square-foot distribution facility at the Beckwith Farms industrial park on the north side of Interstate 40 near Beckwith Road. The company has promised 1,500 jobs within five years and a capital investment of $100 million.
The sports apparel and equipment retail giant left open the potential to expand in Mt. Juliet. There are already three additional buildings approved for Beckwith West — one 915,500 square feet and two 450,000 square feet according to Mt. Juliet’s planning department.
The new Beckwith North plans were submitted by Panattoni, which is the development company for the Under Armour project.
Under Armour “has not committed to any additional space in Mt. Juliet,” spokeswoman Tilea Coleman said.
