Panattoni Developing $356M, 2.8M-SF Distribution Center in Arlington

Irvine, CA-based Panattoni Development Co. plans to develop a $356-million, 2.8 million-square-foot distribution center next to Arlington Municipal Airport in Snohomish County. The five-story facility at 16900 51st Ave. NE is reportedly being claimed for occupancy by Amazon.

Arlington city planning documents indicate the 75-acre site is owned by Everett-based National Food Corp. and its employee 401K retirement plan. The multi-story project, dubbed Project Roxy, will sit in a 635,000 square-foot footprint and is planned to include 1,250 parking stalls, 51 truck loading docks and 314 trailer parking stalls.

Panattoni’s Travis Hale told the Puget Sound Business Journal the company plans to begin construction in early spring. Sources familiar with the project told the Business Journal air cargo operations are not expected to be part of Project Roxy’s operations, despite the new facility’s proximity to Arlington Municipal Airport. City permits are expected to be issued for the development in the coming weeks.
